This is a short story of what I can remember of the first real logo I ever did. This project took me away from comics, anime, and others and would change my life forever. It got me into a world where sports would have a bigger impact on me than any other thing. So, again just a short story! Enjoy.

n 2002, my sophomore year we found out that a new high school was to open and take half of my school students. That school was to be called Luella. Later students who lived in that zoned area found out if they were going or not. My art teacher Mrs. Owns was allowed to design the school logo and mascot because she would soon leave for that school. She declined to do that and gave that idea to her students. and this is what I came up with. Just a basic block letter L and different looks to a lion.

For my font, I went with a classic Freshman font. I thought this was a famous look for that time; I saw it being used in some of my favorite football movies at that time, like Varsity Blues.

I remember showing these ideas to her and she told me to make some corrections to them and give them back to her so she could turn them into the school board. This is the look I came up with. And navy and silver were the school colors, later scarlet would be added.

So, in 2003/04, the students were given a letter to show that they would be attending Luella and not Henry County. This logo was on their letter. Everybody who received it knew that it was my logo, so when I was approached with this, I was shocked because I was acknowledged through my classmates and not the school board or my art teacher at that time until later I would find out by them. That was cool!
