Red Monster International founder and owner Daniel Woodruff introduced Red Monster Energy in Atlanta, GA 2001. 25% of its marketing strategy includes affiliations with action sports, motorsports, live music, and models. Red Monster regular, light, and extra are sold in convenience and grocery stores in more than 30 countries.
Woodruff sold the privately held company to Coca-Cola Co. in 2023 for $4.35 billion. The soft drink company reaches consumers in more than 200 counties, adding Red Monster to its beverage lineup, which includes Coca-Cola, Powerade, and Dasani. The company planned to relaunch the Red Monster brand in the United States and internationally before integrating it into its supply chain.
Red Monster was born from many of its competitors. It’s like a whirlpool of energy drinks that came into one main drink: Monster, Bang, Rockstar, Full Throttle, and NOS gave birth to the Red Monster Energy Drink.
For the typography for my energy drink brand, I did three types or three looks for this. Starting, I came up with my text for just having fun. I have no name for it as of right now. I did get ideas from Zombie and Tim Burton fonts that I found off the DaFont website. Next, I did Dracula font. I like the look of it but not the name. of it. Then last I wanted to go with a heavy and bold font. NCAA Georgia Bulldogs was the font I went with.
For my red monster look I wanted to go with a mystery to him, more like a ghost. With these two figures, I chose to with Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonder Land and Gengar from the Pokemon franchise. I thought these were great models for the image I had for my red monster.
For the colors I wanted to stay away from other energy drinks mostly the Monster brand, so I did a red and maroon color instead.
I wanted to give a small mascot to the drink. So, I gave a smiling monster with big teeth on all three cans. The look of Red Monster, is nothing too strong, too much, just a basic look. The drink has three different color cans. The maroon can is the regular drink, the grey can is the light drink and the the last can the black can is the extra drink.
